Festivals and Celebrations in Huntley Illinois
Huntley Illinois is perhaps best known for its Prime Outlets mall and Sun City retirement community, the largest in the Midwest. But the over 24,000 residents of Huntley also like to celebrate and the yearly calendar is replete with festivals and celebrations of all sizes and shapes.
Memorial Day Parade
During Huntley’s annual Memorial Day parade, numerous and varied groups come together to honor veterans who served their country and died in wars throughout the years. The parade culminates with a ceremony honoring the dead held at the Huntley Cemetery.
Huntley Town Picnic
The Huntley Town Picnic has been running for almost 15 years now and is one of Huntley’s longest running festivals. Food and drink is available as well as games and entertainment. The picnic is held annually in late June at Deicke Park. Fun for all ages is available in the warm summer sun.
Huntley Home & Business Expo
The Huntley Home & Business Expo showcases local businesses and services of all kinds. The event is sponsored by the Huntley Chamber of Commerce and provides an opportunity for residents and businesses to interact and get to know each other making later interactions more familiar. The expo is typically held in late February.

Huntley High School Fine Arts Festival
The Huntley High School Fine Arts Festival is a showcase for student artwork, musical concerts, and dramatic performances. It has been running for ten years and is held annually in late April.
Fourth of July
The Huntley Fourth of July celebration is a great way to enjoy community-wide interaction, spectacular fireworks, good food, and good fun. It is held on, or around, July 4th at varying locations. Check local news sources for details.
This annual event was first held in 2006 as a way to enjoy the fall weather and flora. The Fall Fest is hosted by a volunteer committee of the Huntley Park Foundation and is held on various dates in September.
Summerfest originated in 2001 as a celebration of Huntley’s sesquicentennial. Like the other festivals in the area, it’s a great way to enjoy food, family, and fun in the great outdoors. Summerfest is sponsored by the Jaycesss group.
Huntley High School Homecoming
The Huntley High School Homecoming parade culminates with the ever-popular homecoming football game held on a Friday in September or October.
These celebrations are held periodically throughout the year at the American Legion hall. Hosted by the local Boy Scouts, they are a great way to support that organization while enjoying good company and good food.
